The Diode Laser
The Diode Laser is an instrument used for years in dentistry, but too often its use is relegated only to minor surgery such as the removal of fibroid and frenules when instead it has multiple uses in all operations of Conservation, Prosthesis, Endodontics, Periodontology that present daily in our studios.
The L.A.G.G. (Laser-Assisted Gum Graft) consists in grafting non-de-epithelialized gingival tissue in the recipient site to then perfect the de-epithelialization only in the necessary areas to be able to cover recessions even of 2 / 3rd degree of the Miller classification in a single operation and solve cases complexes around plants. In this case, the patient is referred to me for an implant “failure” with the request to reform an adequate band of keratinized tissue to perform a peri-implant vestibular bone regeneration in a second operation. After the first surgery performed with the LAAG technique, the result was so brilliant that to date, after more than a year of follow-up, there was no more intervention with bone regeneration.
